♥Muslims celebrate first day of Ramadan♥

First day of Ramadan■ Celebration of Ramadan which is the ninth and holiest month of the Muslim calendar starts today and will end on 30th September 2008. Ramadan starts on different day each year determined by the actual sighting of the new moon. Muslims uses Islamic Lunar calendar which is 11 days shorter than the Gregorian Calendar.

During the month of Fasting, Muslims are needed to avert from food, sex and drink from dawn until dusk. No Sex during Ramadan. This is absolutely forbidden and even swallowing of saliva needs to be avoided.

According to Muslim bible Qu'ran say that fasting during Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam. During these days, Muslims undergo a cleansing and or renewal of spirit. However they will come alive after sunset and break their fasting and continue praying and do regular household chores.
