♥23rd Kadayawan Festival♥

■ THEME: "Musanay Lumadnong Kagikan, Yutang Kabilin Panalipdan" (Flourishing Indigenous Heritage, Protecting Ancestral Nations).

Kadayawan Festival in Davao City pays tribute to the "Indigenous People" to showcasing their culture and arts such as Maranao, Bagobo, Tausug, B'laan and etc. They are the hightlight for this year's 23rd Kadayawan Festival.

The festival was opened and scheduled at 4 pm August 18, 2008 to showcase their Itinerary on what people should expect throughout the week. Many visitors, guests, tourists came in, despite the fact of the news being issued against Mindanao.

Kadayawan Festival is celebrated every month of August. Many Celebrities are coming over to participate and witness the much awaited Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan and the Floral Float Parade. Malls, Hotels, Bars all over the city are fully crowded. Some Dabawenyos preferred to go to the Malls to see their favorite Kapuso, Kapamilya stars.

Last Wednesday, we went to Osmeña Park to witness the "Tribong Dabawenyo". Luckily, We were able to see the House of Datu, Tagabawa (Bagobo) House. See photos below:

2nd runner up: Contingent from Suralla, South Cotabato
1st runner up: Contingent from Magallanes Elementary School Davao City
